Farmer mental health in Canada: Associations with farm management and animal health and welfare

Funded in collaboration with the Mitacs as part of our 2022 Winter Studentships, University of Manitoba student Breanna Zwick is working with Farm Management Canada.

For this project, she will be surveying and interviewing dairy farmers to better understand how mental health impacts farmers and their cattle. Through interviewing farmers and looking at cattle body conditions, she hopes to help identify a link between human health and animal health so that support systems can be better targeted and adjusted to farming communities.
