Who we are
Vision - A Canada with better mental health for all.
Mission - Leading and partnering to improve mental health practices where Canadians connect, live and work.
Mental Health Research Canada (MHRC) is an innovative national charitable organization that was established in 2018 having evolved from a 55-year-old provincial organization. In this short time, we have already impacted and contributed to every province and two of three territories. We operate in both official languages and provide important support for Indigenous communities
We are unique in our sector: we are nimble and highly collaborative as we LEAD, SEED and INFLUENCE to improve mental health in Canada. We are collaborative- we work with all others in the sector - and we focus on system level change, and not just our own work. We are forward-looking and committed to excellence in all that we do. MHRC is dedicated to improving the lives of Canadians through the fulsome engagement of stakeholders and people with lived experience.
We see a day when mental health systems are capable of supporting the needs of people with mental health needs, where people can find and access effective mental health services that enable them to be mentally healthy.
