“In a conversation with a friend about my stress, I received a valuable recommendation: to text 686868. This service offered anonymous support from sympathetic listeners. Initially hesitant, fearing the service was solely for crisis situations, I decided to give it a try.”
I faced a challenging period in my life a few years back. Overwhelmed by various stressors, I felt as though everything was hitting me at once. Despite having a strong support network of friends and family, I hesitated to confide in them deeply. While I’d share a surface-level view of my feelings, I refrained from burdening or worrying them with the depths of my struggles. Sensing that everyone had their own battles to fight, I didn't want to add to their worries.
