This research brief examines the extent to which self-rated anxiety and depression, as well as professional diagnoses of anxiety and depression have increased for nurses in comparison to other sectors.

Key Findings:

  • Nurses are collectively experiencing increased self-rated levels of anxiety and depression since the onset of the pandemic; higher than the average of all other employment sectors.

  • Between August and October 2021, nurses have experienced a notable increase in depression.
